Ideas
#22 - Nov.2021
Ideas at an early stage of the design process are very fragile. You need to nurture them properly to avoid killing them too early.
Frame them too narrow and you will ignore potential opportunities; frame them too broad and you'll lack focus.
They can come from anyone on the team. An unexpected idea could become a novel way of solving a problem. Be open - listen and learn from others.
Bringing solution assumptions too early might take the idea down without evaluating its real value. Diverging without converging, on the other hand, will slow you down.
Balance is the key here. Bring focus by prioritizing on opportunities. Invest your energy in a deep understanding of the problem before jumping into the solution.
Yet, ideation is just the beginning of the journey. Customer value should be delivered.
