Learning to read

#238 - Apr.2025

Mario Vargas Llosa said that reading was "the most important thing that has happened to me in life."

I think many of us could say the same.

Now as a parent watching my daughter learning to decipher her first sentences, I realize how fortunate we all are who had the opportunity to learn to read.

Without knowing it, we were given the key to discover millions of ideas from people who put into phrases what they felt, thought, and learned in this life.

And along with them, we experience, once again, those moments when reading a book.

Page by page.

From realism to the imaginary world. From concrete to abstract.

We live in a hyperconnected world where we constantly look for shortcuts.

The patience and discipline to read a book seems like a heroic act.

But it's worth every second.

Happy World Book Day!

¡Saludos!

ps: If you haven't seen yet, these are some of the books that I constantly recommend to others.
