There is a simple question that can help improve your value proposition: "Do we have a differentiated approach to solve this problem?"

In a world where products and services are commoditized, what's different stand out.

This is not only a question that helps you assess the size of an investment opportunity but rather a reminder throughout the design journey to help you create something great.

We are constantly focused on the minimum viable experience. In other words, we are happy on delivering at the threshold. But thresholds lead to commoditization. It makes your product or service generic. Serves all, but none at the same time.

Bringing excitement and unexpected elements into an experience is what makes your proposition not only valuable but lovable. Not only functional but memorable.

Ensure the core elements for a fully functional experience are covered, but do not forget to assess opportunities to differentiate the approach on how you serve such functions. There is where many innovations are hidden.
