Two questions
#46 - Jan.2023
We live in a consumption era. Every day we consume an endless amount of online content and services through digital products.
It is easy to fall into a consumption loop. Your creative muscle stops growing. You become numb by the constant exposure to a rather infinite source of information.
Distraction becomes the new norm. Your learning and in-depth understanding of a skill or craft are reduced to splashes of unstructured stimuli. You consume more. You create less.
Remember that what you consume is actually upstream of what you create. Two questions can help you regain focus. The next time you catch yourself in these endless loops of consumption reflect on: (1) is this helping me to create something new? and (2) is this teaching me something that will enhance my craft?
You will be impressed by how many times we invest valuable time in worthless content.
