Try it yourself

#84 - Oct.2023

The most effective way to solve a problem is by living it yourself.

Is by walking the walk and experiencing the nuances of the difficulties, opportunities, and context that you will be able to better design a solution for that problem.

Role-playing, shadowing a customer, being a customer yourself are all great ways to immerse into the problem and develop empathy.

An important reminder: empathy is not putting ourselves into others' shoes.

With ourselves, we also take our conditioning, perspectives, and biases. Genuine empathy is about trying our best to remove ourselves from the equation and diving deep with a beginner's mind.

Be open and curious to learn through others' perspectives. See through their eyes instead of yours.
