[Weekly Retro] Discipline

#36 - Feb.2024

Happy Friday!

Here is a quick idea before you head off for the weekend:

“Only the disciplined ones in life are free”

This quote comes from an athlete that runs +200 kms per week. Through his running discipline, he became the first human to break the 2-hour marathon mark. This is Eliud Kipchoge.

I truly think that discipline - in your personal & professional life - not only helps you accomplish more but gives you a sense of freedom. It frees you up from your willpower, especially on days were you are not in the mood to do something.

Discipline helps you against one of your worst enemies: “I’ll do this later…”. It helps you embrace your fears and insecurities.

Over time, displacing leads to habits.

And, luckily, some of those habits will become your passions.

  • Organize a Calendar
  • Define priorities
  • Commit to practice, even if you are not inspired or in the mood.
  • Create your daily rituals
  • Turn the process into your motivation
  • Enjoy the process
