What we create has a real impact on society. Acknowledging this fact and ensuring we stay true to our core beliefs is the purpose of Ethical Design.
These are important principles to apply Ethical Design to your product:
- Usability. Promote high usability over aesthetics.
- Accessibility. Incorporate inclusive design since day 1.
- Privacy. Customer trust is a function of how seriously you take privacy.
- Persuasion. Balance genuine engagement vs. useless usage.
- Focus. Use customer's attention wisely.
- Sustainability. Respect our world. Is the only one we have.
- Society. Take into account the complex ecosystem of a society.
