Start with a journey.
There are tons of business challenges that you can solve by walking the customer's journey.
Simple yet powerful.
Adapt it to your context. While you can start with the basics (you can check my template here), you can - and should - transform it to whatever fits your discovery goals.
Just the simple action of creating a journey will immediately force you to abstract often complex processes.
A journey sets you into the right mental model to design for people.
