What’s not going to change
#214 - Mar.2025
It's hard to predict the future! I tried in the past...
I like Jeff Bezos' reasoning that when building a long-term strategy, instead of trying to predict what will change, we often don't reflect enough on what's not going to change.
In product strategy, everything seems to be changing very quickly.
With the rise of AI-powered products, everyone is questioning even core paradigms that have remained true for the last 60 years, since we started interacting with computers through command lines.
But there is something that I strongly believe won't change.
Something that is at the core of any design practice.
We'll continue to design for people.
This is at the core of what we do as designers, product managers and engineers. We design for real needs and real people.
People who are profoundly wired with expectations, fears and behavioral mindsets.
And now, and in the future, the secret will be in how we tackle these complex needs by leveraging the best technology available.
Tools will change. People's needs will remain constant.
¡Saludos!
